Quadrate Rods
Quads
are rods built on a four strip blank rather than the more traditional hexagonal
or six
strip approach. Rectangular in crossection, quads have
slightly faster actions than hexagonal rods of the same length and line weight.
They're fabulous dry fly rods, and are often an easier transition for anglers
accustomed to casting graphite. They require specialized planeing forms
and other tools to build, and we recently expanded the workshop and began to
produce our first quads in late 2004. Their lively action and our
painstaking
attention to detail has already made them extremely popular with our
customers, and we currently have a backlog of orders for them! Quad rods
start at $995 for two piece, two tip models. Sound
interesting? Contact us about the new quads, and see what all the fuss is about.
